A Walk Around Loddiswell: Countryside Paths and an Old Railway Bridge

Loddiswell is a village surrounded by countryside and woodland in South Devon. This post shares a walk through the area, including the old railway bridge, and how it felt to explore it on a bright but slightly eerie autumn day.

Walking in the Countryside Near Loddiswell

Amber and I went for a walk in the countryside around Loddiswell on the 20th of November 2025. Despite the sunny weather, some parts of the walk felt surprisingly quiet and atmospheric.

The Old Railway Bridge

One of the most striking parts of the walk was the old railway bridge. Even in good weather, it has a slightly creepy feel to it, especially when walking underneath it. The contrast between the bright light outside and the darker space beneath the bridge made it feel more unsettling than expected.
