Berry Head is a prominent headland near Brixham, known for its lighthouse, old military buildings, and wide views over the sea. This post shares a visit to Berry Head and some observations about the site and its atmosphere.

Visiting Berry Head

Amber and I went to Berry Head in Brixham on the 7th of October 2025. The area felt very open and exposed, with strong coastal winds and wide views across the water.

The Lighthouse and Communications Mast

Near the lighthouse, there is a communications mast that stands out against the landscape. Seeing modern communications equipment so close to an old lighthouse made me think about how navigation and communication at sea have changed over time.

Old Military Buildings

Berry Head also has old military shelters and buildings, which add to its historic and slightly eerie atmosphere. These structures hint at the area’s defensive past and help link the site to the wider nautical world.

Great pictures Peter and I really love the definition in the skies.
